Tragic Passing of Coach Cliff Gillman
Yale Youth Hockey Family,
Beloved Yale Youth Hockey 8U Coach Cliff Gillman passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2025.
Known to his players as "Coach French Fry," Cliff was not just a coach--he was a mentor, a role model, and a much loved and respected figure in our organization. He has had a formative impact on so many of our 8U skaters, having coached Learn to Skate, House and Travel players and is known for making the time in locker room as much fun as the time on the ice.
We know that this news will be deeply upsetting to our players, coaches, and families, and we have arranged for support services for members of the 8U program.
